A DAY IN TEXAS HILL COUNTRY

From its early beginnings as a German settlement camp, Fredericksburg,Texas is now a picturesque and vibrant community that has found a niche in wine and peaches.
In addition, a treasure just steps off Main Street, is the National Museum of the Pacific War where visitors quickly become engaged in the personal stories of the Americans from all branches of the military involved in the Pacific theatre of World War II.
But a true highlight of the day was the time spent inside the Lyndon B Johnson Nat'l Historic Park that included a tour of the LBJ Ranch . The "Texas White House" as it is sometimes referred to, was the first property outside of the Nation's capitol where a sitting President kept office.
Our High Street Travelers group photo above shows the property in the background.

For our evening's entertainment, The Enchanted Springs Ranch, a "real" western movie set, treated us to BBQ and a rodeo show. The unexpected "irritated" bull and the Teapot-demonstarting crew were a bonus!
