March & April Day Trips Were Delightful!

The High Street Travelers enjoyed Lacomedia Dinner Theatre's 100th anniversary production of TITANIC on March 14th. It was a lovely day to travel to Springboro,Oh and the cast & crew truly made us land-lovers feel like we with onboard ship (until the end). The ship STILL sinks!

MYSTERY UNVEILED- the April 11th day started out a bit chilly, but the full bus of 50 travelers were not disappointed with the destination...Miami County,OH.

Our first stop was Brukner Nature Center in Troy,OH which is a privately-funded non profit nature preserve and rehabilitation center. We were treated to the company of a Barred Owl & Peregrine Falcon that are currently staying and being cared for by the staff.
For lunch in downtown Tipp City,OH the Travelers were treated to the 2nd floor private room of Harrison's and plenty of scrumptious and filling food. Antique stores line Main street of this city made famous by the Presidential slogan, "Tippecanoe and Tyler too".
And our final stop in Piqua,OH was to the Johnston Family Farm and Indian Agency. Still in operation are the mule-pulled canal boats, circa 1900 that transported people and goods up and down the Miami-Erie canal.
I am standing in the photo above next to the General Harrison and the two mules in the background walked the toe path for our 40 minute "commute".
Miami County is approximately 90 minutes from Muncie and Delaware County and definitely worth taking a look at.
